What is the difference between the Present Perfect Simple and the Present Perfect Continuous? Look at this sentence:
John has lived in London for three years.
► Is John still living in London or not? Maybe yes, maybe not, we are not sure.
How can you make it clear that John moved to London three years ago and he is still living there? In Italian, you would use the present: John vive a Londra da tre anni. But in English you can never use the present if you're talking about a duration. You have to use Present Perfect Continuous:
John has been living in London for three years.
► John is still living in London, it’s sure.
