Enrolment options

This course is the replica of the equivalent course in Italian. It consists in 4 hours of training aimed at freshmen of the School of Economics and Management and its objective is to introduce concepts and useful tools at a basic level to help students to enhance the subjects under study.

In particular, the course briefly presents:

  • The characteristics of scientific communication
  • The available paper and digital collections
  • The tools for bibliographic research
  • Access on and off campus to databases
  • BEM's services for students

Skills that should be acquired following this course: understanding of the nature of scientific communication and the different types of documents, knowledge of the specificity of collections that are useful for study in the different disciplinary area, ability to search for paper or digital documents, knowledge of the Sole 24 ore database, knowledge of  BEM services and premises.

Acquired skills will be checked by means of ongoing self-assessment quizzes and a final test.
