Clip 1 - Bestr Ecosystem UniTo
- ToggleThe University of Turin has a digital certification system based on the Open Badge valid in terms of knowledge, thought as academic and personal skills acquired by students. Open Badges are digital certifications of disciplinary knowledge, soft skills and technical skills acquired. Open Badges is not a specific product or platform, but a type of digital badge that is verifiable, portable, and packed with information about skills and achievements. The Open Badge is a digital attestation that collects information used in the recognition of the person's skills, knowledge and soft skills that the person possesses. The Open badge is a personal, secure certification tool, easily spendable on social channels and verified in real time, which is used according to the standard. The badge has been consulted and learned by institutions or companies and can receive the endorsement of all the entities that recognize its value, promoting connections between companies, trainers and students. Clip 2 - Lifelong and Lifewide Learning - What is it?
- ToggleLifelong learning and lifewide learning describes the concept of learning in which individuals learn throughout the life-span from formal, non-formal, and informal sources. It is an issue for educational policy, labor market policy, and the workplace, as well as for civil society. Key issues in lifelong learning include the following:
- lifelong learning "dissolves" the boundaries between policy sectors and increases communication between various walks of life;
- lifelong learning challenges old ways of communicating and looks toward finding forms and infrastructure for cooperation and coordination;
- lifelong and lifewide learning implies a shift in responsibility for education and learning from the public to the private and civil spheres;
- lifelong learning also involves a shift from the state to the individual, with the individual being the center of the process;
- government and society must create good conditions for lifelong and lifewide learning, especially by promoting educational equity;
- lifelong and lifewide learning requires information and guidance and follow-up and evaluation.

Clip 3 - Blockcerts and Blockchain of the University of Turin
- ToggleBlockcerts is an open standard developed by MIT Media Lab that is used to digitally express a certificate and keep it in a blockchain so that it can always be verified without contacting the issuing organization or platform. A Blockcerts is a digital certificate issued by University of Turin and owned by an individual that is expressed in this format and notarized in the blockchain.
UniTo issuing the Blockcerts digitally signs them with its own keys. Blockcerts, like paper certificates, are kept by the owner. In contrast to a paper certificate, the owner can simply transfer the Blockcerts without having to remove them from the original, and the authenticity of the certificate can be proved by comparing the content of the Blockcerts with its "digital footprint."
